  why won't my riding lawn mower turn over?
  

  I have a RX95 John Deere lawn mower and I couldn't get it to turn over. So I went and got a new ignition switch but still had no luck does anyone have any ideas. thanks
  The battery is fine because when I was hooking it up after charging it the wire hit metal and sparked.

  Well ok to start with, the idiots that would have you replace spark plugs and pistons have absolutely NO CLUE what they are talking about!!!

  If it will not turn over, It has to be either the ignition switch or a fuse or the battery or the starter solenoid or the starter.

  If it clicks but nothing else then it probably is a bad battery or starter. BTW just because the wire sparked does not mean the battery is any good, take it and have it tested. Autozone auto parts stores and others will do the testing for free.
  No click means either the battery or the starter soleniod. Notice that the batery is involved every time, have it tested before you do anything else, you will probably save a lot of time and money.
