    Troy bilt mower won't go?

Mowing 2.5 acres up hills and such. Have a 19 hp troy bilt bronco mower built in 06. I was going up a hill and the mower stopped its movement and rolled backwards the engine was still running .Brakes did not work and it will not go forward or backwards...gas pedal seems loose..... is this the drive belt? or is there something else possible wrong.. I hope it isn't the driveshaft/axle....
all belts are in place..........the brake and gas pedal feel loose.

Look underneath and see if the drivebelt is in place. Since the brakes also did not work, check out the pedal linkages.
