2 cycle engines,1982 lawn boy mower?
i recently inhearted this mower from my grand parents it probably hasny been used since 1983 (guessing) it runs but only if i squiry fule in the carborator and stops when that fule is gone ive been told it dosent need rebuilt since it runs great while that is being done any other ideas
Mini mechanical revue; the carburetor feeds the engine with fuel, and must be clean and fully functioning to do so. You can squirt fuel in the carburetor and make the engine run, and it dies when that fuel is gone. That makes me think that if it has been 26 years since the mower has ran I would say the carburetor needs rebuilding or replacing.
PS, the Lawn Boy 2 cycle mower was an extremely good machine when they were introduced in the 60' and 70's. Very strong and reliable, easy start engine! Just be sure to properly mix 2 cycle oil with the gasoline EVERY time!!
