honda atc 70... problem with recoil starter?
I've got a little atc 70, the three wheeler. it's a 1984. My little brother was riding it, and it died, so we went over to start it, well when we pulled the rope, it came out and didn't go back in. So i put it 3rd gear and was able to push start it, it started and the rope went almost all the way back in, but 1/4 of it wouldn't, so i killed it. We opened it up and the recoil spring (if that's what it's called) came out.
So we were wondering if it was possible to put it back in? cause we tried and it was hard.
and are they interchangeable? as in the years and size? Would a 90 or 110 recoil starter go on this 70? and would a 70 recoil starter of a different year work on this one?any additional info. would be useful... thanks
i believe they are interchangeable. ive done several of them and yes they are tough.if i remember how ill post, its been 25 yrs since ive done one.guarantee its easier than an echo weedwacker though.
